Loy Parker Rodgers, born in McCaskill, Arkansas February 8, 1932, passed peacefully at home August 14, 2024. He was born to William Wallace Rodgers and Bessie Stone Rodgers.
He was born, raised and resided in McCaskill, Arkansas until he moved with his loving wife, Reva, to Valley Center, California in 2016.
He was preceded in death by Reva, his wife of 67 years. Loy is survived by his daughter, Sonya and husband Wayne of Valley Center, California; son Steve Rodgers and wife Jennie of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandsons Cody Campbell and Jared Rodgers and one great-grandson, Noah Rodgers.
Loy graduated from Blevins High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Loy’s life-long career was spent operating his family business Rodgers and Son in McCaskill with his father. Upon retirement, he and Reva spent the happiest times of their lives traveling with friends and family with their travel trailer.
One of Loy’s greatest achievements was the establishment of the McCaskill Volunteer Fire Department of which he was the first fire chief. He worked tirelessly to make the fire department a reality.
Loy loved his gardening but in his later years had to swap this for something less laborious. He discovered Facebook and the discovery of a big new world opened up for him. His love of sharing photos and communicating on Facebook was his way of life for the last several years.
