Nevada County Fair Premium Sale

There were many options for food and plenty and people to eat it at the Nevada County Fair livedtock premium dinner. Cornbread, green beans, pasta salads, mashed potatoes, macaroni, meats, baked beans and more were served plus a number of desserts and a choice between sweet or unsweet tea or water.
After everyone had gotten a plate, people were encouraged to go back for seconds as there was plenty of food. The parents of the exhibitors were said to have outdone themselves.
After honoring Dr. Michael Young for all of his service, the sale  started with  year old Slade Hillery with the grand champion steer going for $1,200 to Cole Cowln. Marley Godwin was next with the Supreme Heifer, which went for $800 to Southwest Arkansas Title Company.
Hereire Purifoy, an 8th grader presented the grand champion market hog, which sold for $550 to Dr. Young. Emilee Goodwin, a fifth grader presented the grand champion breeding hog.
Julien Stafford, who is 15 years old, presented the grand champion market goat and Tessa Stone, who has been with 4-H for 11 years presented the grand champion breeding doe. Haylie Pickett, who is 14 years old, presented the grand champion breeding ewe which sold to Dr. Young for $600.

Elsewhere at the fair, the carnival open Thursday night.  This delighted scores of Nevada County youngsters.
