Hope Lions Hear Program on World Services for the Blind from Craig Robinson

The Hope Lions heard a program from one of their former members on Monday (9-16).  Craig Robinson grew up in Hope and was a member of the Hope Lions for several years.  Last year he relocated to Little Rock to World Services for the Blind to continue his education.  He’s studying financial services at WSB.

Robinson told about his day-to-day activities and his education.  He told a few amusing anecdotes about life there and about what happened when the fire alarm surprised the clients late one night.  Robinson is something of a leader where he lives and is nicknamed “The Sheriff”.

World Services for the Blind offers life skills and career training programs in one location.  It is the most comprehensive rehabilitation center in the world for people who are blind or visually impaired.  The facility’s approach allows students to receive services tailored specifically to their needs.  Clients learn skills that will allow them to live independently as well as technology-based career path programs designed to provide students with the knowledge and hands-on experience to allow them to compete in the high-tech job market.

Robinson was accompanied by his mom, Carol Robinson.  He is remembered for his many years of work at Super 1 Foods in Hope.
