McCaskill City Council

The McCaskill City Council met in the McCaskill Community Center on Tuesday (9-17).  The minutes and financial statements were approved. Discussion items included the city obtaining a credit card for easier purchasing and joining other municipalities in opioid settlements that may benefit cities and townships through funding.
The council voted to accept a resolution to seek the “Great Strides of Life” grant to support the town’s walking trail development. Mayor Marion Hoosier discussed the positive report of the town audit. Secretary Kathy Apodaca received a report from SWEPCO regarding the number of streetlights in the town and noted there were more than they had been paying for. The members discussed the situation and agreed to investigate the difference. Apodaca reported a donation to the town in honor of notable members of that had passed on. The donation was made by former resident Deborah Oliver.
The council announced that the McCaskill Community Center will be hosting its annual trick-or-treat event on Halloween at the community center again this year.
