Severa N. Carrigan Davis, 69

On January 1, 1955, our beloved Severa N. Carrigan Davis was born. She was a dedicated wife, mother, granny, sister, cousin, and friend. Severa Davis was born to the late Matthew Carrigan and Lucille B. Block-Carrigan in Emmet, AR.

In 1972, Severa encountered her lifelong partner, and their relationship flourished for nearly 52 years. In December of 1977, she married her loving husband Donnie R. Davis, to this union two children were born.

A woman who reveres the Lord deserves to be praised. Severa shared her faith in Christ from a young age at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Deann, AR. She was a devoted member from youth to 69 years old, where she held various positions, including, Church Clerk, Chorus member, and Culinary Department leader, Church secretary and Youth Director. She cherished spending time with the youth. Being the youth director was her favorite passion. Severa faithfully attended church every Sunday until her health began to decline.

Severa attended Blevins High School graduating in 1972. Severa’s occupation was Spears Carpet Mill, Catos, and Rainbow of Challenges. Severa devoted over 20 years of her life as a committed homemaker, focusing on the care of her grandchildren to provide them a nurturing environment at home, thereby avoiding the need for daycare.

Severa lived her life dedicating herself to helping others and expressing her faith in God. She approached each day with the mindset of “I am fine, I have my faith in God,” often reassuring those around her even during challenging times, as she wished to prevent others from worrying about her. Severa answered the call to her divine home on Monday, September 16, 2024. The cloud of witnesses who journeyed before her included her parents and seven siblings: Lorine Carrigan, Charles W. Carrigan, John Carrigan, Chester Carrigan, Caesar Carrigan, Wanda Works, and David Carrigan. In this moment we mourn but we still rejoice. We “count it all joy” for we know she now wears her crown. She beholds the Lord, face to face, and her journey is now complete and she no longer has to struggle.” During this time the memories that have been made will continue to lift the hearts and spirits of her husband, Donnie R. Davis, her two children, Meceila Davis, and a special friend (David) of Hope, AR, Shameika Roberts (Billy Jr.) of Fulton, AR. Her grandchildren Ke’Azha Monee Roberts and Billy Ray Roberts III. Her siblings Linda (Rev. Freddie) Smith of Fulton, AR, Lonnie (Margaret) Carrigan of Plano, TX, Frankie (Kris) Carrigan of Garland, TX, Shirley (Jerry) Griffin of Dallas, TX,  Kathy (Samuel) Madison of Reader, AR, Joyce Ogden, Shirley Bass, James Carrigan, Robert Carrigan, Annette (Kenneth) Smith all of Hope, AR, Lisa (Maurica) Aparcio of Emmett, Doris Black of Denver, CO, Wayne Carrigan of Hope, AR; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Carrigan of Hope, AR, Constance Carrigan of Hot Spring, AR, Mae Ann Carrigan of Hope, AR and Mercie Carrigan of Prescott, AR.
