Glenn William Calhoun, Jr.

Glenn William Calhoun, Jr., 81 of Hope, AR passed away Sunda, September 22, 2024. Glen was born April 4, 1943, to Glenn and Thelma (Delaney) Calhoun, the youngest of two children. He graduated with the Class of 1961 of Hope, Arkansas and went to Panola College in Carthage, Texas to play basketball. He owned Glenn Calhoun Plumbing Company licensed in Arkansas and Texas. This took him out of town on motel construction jobs for many years, then serving the community and surrounding areas until retirement.

Glenn’s passions were flying airplanes, hunting, and his Harley’s. His passion for flying airplanes led to his flying field and opening of the Hope Hobby Barn. It was always open to family and friends, old and new. He was a proud fan and supporter of all ballgames.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Calhoun and Thelma Lamb; his first wife, Brenda Mitchell; granddaughter, Lyric Gail Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jessica Robinson Calhoun; sister, Patsy Pearson of Little Rock; three daughters, Cari Calhoun Rushing of Hope, Angela Calhoun of Hope, Kimberly Parker of Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Whitney Crews, Seth Easterling, Tristian Parker, Shyanne Calhoun, Brody Smith, Lyric Anne, and Hunter Rushing; five great grandchildren, Caydon and Harley Helmick, Brantli Stone, Lydia Crews, and Paisley Messbarger.

Memorial service is set for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating.
