The Leopard Run
DE QUEEN – The Hope Cross Country teams competed at the Leopard Run in De Queen on Tuesday. This was the Jr. High Conference Championships. Both teams competed well and finished 3rd in conference. The boys were led by Elliot Vazquez and Christopher Bello. Alan Basilio, Jeffry Lagos, and Christopher Baizabal also had a great run.
The girls were led by Jeizlyn Barrios, who had her best run of the year. The team consisted of Marely Almarez, Emily Castrejon, Lucero Arroyo, and Angelique Martinez.
The Sr. High teams had another great showing. The Sr. Boys were led by Aniell Felipe (4th place finish) and Brian Jimenez (8th place finish). Oswaldo Alvarado, Fabian Aguilar, and Jose Juanes had a great run to help the boys finish in 2nd place overall.
The Girls were led by Brianna Maclaughlin (2nd place finish) and Ari Juanes (13th place finish). Esmeralda Leon, Sophia Johnson, and Wendy Hernandez finished out the top 5 for Hope girls. The girls finished in 3rd place for the meet.
