Veterans Parade and Veterans Day Program Set

Plans have been finalized for the annual Veterans Parade and Veterans Day program next month.

The Veterans Parade will be November 8th at 6pm.  Line-up is at 5:30pm on South Elm.  The parade will follow the District Fair Parade route.  The Grand Marshalls will be Don Ruggles and Barbara Cooper.  For information on participating phone Mark Ross at 870-703-5136.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on November 11th at 11am at the old Hempstead County Courthouse in Hope.  The speaker will be State Senator Steve Crowell.  Following the program, there will be a Lions Club fish fry for veterans, their spouse or significant other, and Gold Star families.  Those attending who don’t fall in those categories can enjoy a fish dinner that day for just $10.  The public is invited.
