Richard “Bud” Taylor McRoy

Richard Taylor McRoy passed away peacefully in his home in Saratoga AR, on October 7th, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. He was born January 23,1943, in Hope AR. to Taylor Lawson McRoy and Vester Stroud McRoy “Jones”. Bud was a member of Oasis Community Church in Texarkana TX.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, a stepdad “Emory Jones” his sister Linda Cox Booker, a nephew Richard Cox and his brother and best friend Wayne Collins and his wife Donna.  His favorite fur baby of 14 years Remington was also waiting for him as he entered heavens gates.

Bud attended Hope High School where he played football and was also a great pony league baseball player.  He began his work career at the age of 8 when he took a newspaper route at the Hope Star in order to buy his mother her 1st washing machine. He then went to work for Vic Massanelli selling produce  which led to a career in the grocery business for 56 years.   He retired in 2015, he was also an avid hunter and fisherman who raised 2 girls and 5 grandsons that could out call, over shoot and out fish most.   Bud was a U.S. Army Veteran, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He never met a stranger, helped every person that he could and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on for years to come in the hearts of all the people he touched during his time here.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Mary Ann McRoy, his 2 daughters Gena Loftin of Star City AR, Angie Vaughn and Floyd Sagely of Fort Smith AR, his grandchildren Steven Loftin (Ashley) of Star City AR, John David Loftin (Madeline) of Star City AR, Glynn Loftin (Ashley) of Texarkana TX. Tyler Vaughn (Killey)of Fayetteville AR, Maurie Mawby (Mitchell) of Rogers AR, Nick Vaughn (fiancé Bella) of Fort Smith AR, Kaydee Jackson (Aaron) Bubba Hendrix of Arkadelphia AR. Adrian, Carson (Faith) and Parker Felty of Texarkana Ar, and R.J. Moon of Texarkana, and 13 great grandchildren.   He also left behind a special friend Wayne Walker of Texarkana Tx. and a bonus son and crappie fishing buddy Eddie Bush of Saratoga AR.

A memorial service will be Thursday October 10th, at 1pm at the Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel in Hope AR, with a visitation beginning at 12:30pm. Memorials can be given in his honor to your local animal shelter.
