The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Southwest Arkansas
Southeast Oklahoma
Northeast Texas
* Effective this Monday afternoon from 525 PM until Midnight CST.
* Primary threats include…
A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY…Thunderstorms occurring ahead of a cold front will
continue to pose a threat for a few tornadoes this evening, with a
strong tornado remaining possible. Otherwise, strong to damaging winds up to 60-70 mph will also be possible with thunderstorms occurring along a cold front.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles north northeast of De Queen AR to 20 miles southwest of Longview TX.

REMEMBER…A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
