Hope City Board Tour of Facilities
The Hope City Board held their annual “tour of facilities” on Tuesday (11-5). The group toured three different facilities, the airport, the east water treatment plant, and the hospital. At the airport leaks in the roof were discussed as repair on a hanger door, a mechanic, how the space is used, and discussion on construction of a future hanger after the current one planned is finished. The board took a tour of drainage repairs already done as well as a runway needing work.
At the treatment plant, the board looked at sewage overflow and new UV treatment building replacing the chlorine treatment of sewage.
At the hospital, Pafford employees stressed the importance of the hospital for the community and jobs that were created directly and indirectly as a result. A tour of the facilities included a demonstration of wing C which isn’t currently in use and needs some repair. Call buttons are being installed.
A lunch was provided at the hospital for the board and city departments which stayed to have a meeting discussing the five-year plan for each department.
