Hope Kiwanis Hears About Veterans Parade and Veterans Day Program

The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Veterans Service Officer Donna Rosenbaum on Tuesday (11-5). Rosenbaum told the club about the upcoming Veterans activities in Hope. There will be a Veterans Parade in downtown Hope Friday (11-8) at 6pm. Any veteran who wishes to be in the parade should be at the line-up on Elm Street by 5:30pm Friday. The parade will follow the district fair parade route. The Grand Marshals will be Don Ruggles and Barbara Cooper. Mark Ross is in charge of the parade.
Rosenbaum noted the Veterans Day Service is set for Monday (11-11) at 11am at the old courthouse on South Washington. The speaker will be State Senator Steve Crowell. Following the program, the Hope Lions will prepare and serve a fish dinner. Veterans and a guest eat free as do Gold Star families. Everyone else can enjoy a fish dinner for $10.
As Veterans Service Officer for Hempstead County, Rosenbaum helps local veterans take advantage of programs and benefits. Her office is on the 2nd floor of the Hempstead County Courthouse. You may contact Rosenbaum at 870-722-8028.
