President-elect Trump chooses Hope native Mike Huckabee for Israel ambassador
PALM BEACH, FL – Hope native, former Arkansas governor. and two-time presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to be the next U.S. ambassador to Israel in the incoming administration. President-elect Trump made the announcement today.
“I am pleased to announce that the Highly Respected former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has been nominated to be The United States Ambassador to Israel,” Trump said in a statement.
“Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years. He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!”
Huckabee served as governor from 1996-2007 and is the father of current governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Huckabee was born on August 24, 1955, in Hope, the son of Dorsey Wiles Huckabee (1923–1996) and his wife Mae (Elder) Huckabee (1925–1999).
