Walmart awards $1,000 to Hamilton Haven

PRESCOTT — Hamilton Haven has been awarded $1,000 through Walmart’s Spark Good Local Grant program.

“Walmart’s continued investment in our mission is very important and much appreciated,” said Hamilton Haven executive director Michele Hamilton Rhodes. “It’s a testament to what our team has accomplished and that it is recognized by the community.”

Spark Good Local Grants are part of a program where Walmart U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs and Distribution Centers award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5,000. These grants are designed to address the unique needs of the communities where Walmart operates.

This grant was awarded by the Hope Walmart location.

A nonprofit organization, Hamilton Haven opened in April 2020 and provides emergency, temporary housing for displaced families and individuals.

Public Relations Coordinator Nathan Tidwell noted that Walmart stores have contributed more than $4,000 to Hamilton Haven.

Hamilton Haven is a 501(c)(3) organization and designated as a public charity by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions are tax deductible.
