Hempstead County Quorum Court

Hempstead County Quorum Court met on Thursday (12-12). The minutes and the financial statement were approved. An ordinance appropriating the budget for 2025 was read and passed. The County General Budget will be $5,815.858.20 with an anticipated revenue of over $1 million more than that.

Some of the larger county budgets apart from county general include the county road budget at $4,666,282.93, the juvenile grant at $5 million, the capital Improvement/courthouse fund budget at $3,264,557.18, the county jail at close to $2.5 million, and the solid waste budget at $273,853.81. Other significant budgets include the library, UAHT college purpose fund, and the county general Investments fund budget.

The ordinance passed and the meeting then adjourned.
