First United Methodist Church of Hope Compiles Cleaning Buckets

Members of the congregation of First United Methodist Church of Hope recently put together 51 cleaning buckets for the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church “Ingathering.”
Each year, Ingathering donations are used to help disaster survivors nationally.  The FUMC-Hope buckets will help replenish supplies distributed to areas affected by hurricanes, floods, and other recent disasters.  The five-gallon buckets were filled with various cleaning products, scrub brushes, cleaning wipes, insect repellant, dust masks, gloves, trash bags, and other essential items.
FUMC-Hope members and others in the community donated the funds to purchase the items and the members worked together to get the buckets filled and ready to send to the Ingathering.  An additional monetary gift was also sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).  Several members are pictured as they work assembly-line style to complete the cleaning bucket project.
Hope’s First United Methodist Church will offer a Christmas Eve Service and Communion at 4 p.m. on December 24.  FUMC meets at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm in Hope, and Pastor Tom Mullins invites everyone to attend.
