George Franklin “Frank” Anderson, 76, of Richardson, Texas, passed away December 6, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Virginia Power Anderson and their son, Andy. Frank is also survived by his mother-in-law Ouida Power, his sisters-in-law Rita Anderson, Becca Power Blaine, Abby Hardin and Teresa James as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Eleanor Anderson, his brother W.P. “Bill” Anderson, and father-in-law Glen Power, Jr.
Born in Prescott, Arkansas, Frank graduated from Prescott High in 1966. He studied at Southern State (now SAU) then graduated from UAMS, College of Pharmacy. There, he later earned his Pharm D degree in pharmacy. After years as both a retail and staff hospital pharmacist and director of hospital pharmacy, Frank moved to his dream job of clinical pharmacist at Baylor Richardson Senior Health Center. Herein lay his passion for helping seniors both at the clinic and at their homes. His patients dearly loved him, often calling him a blessing. Frank’s reply to them was always that it was he who was the blessed one.
Frank had many interests, especially model railroading. His greatest priority was spending time with Andy from playing with Legos to listening to Andy play musical instruments over the years. Frank’s true joy was found being an attentive listener and spending time with family.
In later years, Frank persevered through difficult health challenges. Despite this, he remained thankful, expressing gratitude for everything. Throughout his life, his faith in Jesus Christ always held a central role. He said that his job was to trust and focus on God, not his circumstances. He believed that God has a plan for each of us and strove each day to follow that plan. Frank found meaning in the simple pleasures of life and the joy of having family and friends who loved him.
Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas where he faithfully watched online each week.
