Third Street railroad crossing replaced & reopened to traffic
HOPE – Replacement of the West 3rd Street (Highway 67) railroad crossing has been completed by the contractor TRAK-TIME, Inc. The Kiamichi Railroad crossing was closed beginning Sunday with completion announced Tuesday morning.
The contractor renewed the entire track segment by installing construction fabric, new 10’ cross ties, new 115 lb rail, new ballast surfaced properly for stabilization, and new concrete crossing boards. Also, the hot mix approaches were renewed per ArDOT requirements.
Kiamichi Railroad funded the entire cost. The crossing is part of a multiple track improvement project.
