In Loving Memory of Wilbert “Poppy” Payne

May 13, 1955 – December 15, 2024

Brother Wilbert Payne, lovingly known as “Poppy,” was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Born on May 13, 1955, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Van and Sara Payne, Wilbert was the fifth of nine children.

Wilbert attended school in Brinkley, Arkansas, and pursued a career in construction. His family was his greatest treasure, and his time away from work was joyfully spent with his grandchildren or traveling the roads with his beloved wife, Patricia. He had a love for old westerns and a knack for fixing things.

A faithful member of Nashville – Seventh Day Adventist in Nashville, Arkansas, Wilbert’s faith guided him through life until he was called into eternity on December 15, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Sara Payne; his brothers, Leodis Payne and Leroy Payne; and his nephews, Kelvin Pearson and Steven Thompson and his great niece Autumn Payne
