City of Prescott holds Christmas party

PRESCOTT – The City of Prescott held their Christmas party at the Senior Center on Monday. This was Howard Austin 73rd birthday Bruce Bean also was recognized for his birthday, and both were serenaded with Happy Birthday. The party had many things to eat including an assortment of meats, coleslaw, sweet potato casserole and fries as well as an egg dish, beans and assortment of deserts.

There were prizes to be won including a $25 Subway gift certificate, a $25 Sonic gift certificate, many Haybarn Championship Wrestling tickets and a week’s paid vacation.

DQ Hopper, said to be a Prescott legend, was recognized as the Hardworking Man of the Year. His sayings are known in many places – he was even recognized on a trip to Kansas City.

There were five nominations for the 2024 Newcomer of the Year and fifteen for the 2024 Employee of the Year. Shytavia Hopper won the Newcomer of the Year award and Shanta Wiley the Employee of the Year. (Photos by Eric Mclaurin)
