Jerry Don Morton, 65, of McCaskill, Arkansas. passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after a lengthy illness. He was born November 20, 1959, in Hope, Arkansas, to Ernest L. and Annie Marie Morton. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Morton.

He is survived by his two brothers, Ernie Morton of Prescott, and Mike (Jan) Morton of McCaskill. He also leaves his nephew, Aaron (Lindsay) Morton of Hope and their three boys, Eli, Matthew, and Maverick and many other family and friends to cherish his memory.

Jerry Don grew up in the McCaskill community and graduated from Blevins High School in 1978. He went on to attend Texas A & M where he received a Bachelor’s degree in business. After college, he spent most of his work career at Swepco in Nashville, Arkansas, as a field engineer. He retired after twenty-plus years with the company.

In his leisure time, Jerry Don enjoyed bowling and was a member of several different leagues. But his true enjoyment was hunting and fishing. He loved nothing more than spending time at the lake fishing for crappie and on his land hunting deer with his brothers, nephew, and cousins in McCaskill. The family looked forward each fall to getting together at his home, which everyone called The Deer Camp, to swap stories, eat good food, and catch up on family news.

Jerry Don will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. There will be a celebration of life service at his home at a later date.
