Hope Finishes December and Year Up On Rainfall

Hope finished 2024 up on rainfall both for the final month and for the entire year.  According to statistics compiled at Hope’s official weather station, the Southwest Research and Extension Center on state highway 174 east of Hope, the official rainfall for December 2024 was 10.54 inches.  This compares to a normal rainfall of 5.38 inches for December.  Total rainfall was up 5.18 inches.

Hope finished 2024 up considerably on rainfall for the year.  The average rainfall for a year would be 54.47 inches.  In 2024, Hope collected 69.95 inches of rain for the year.  This was 15.48 inches over normal yearly rainfall.

December 2024 was a little warmer than usual.  The normal average temperature is 43.8 degrees.  The monthly average for December was 45.33 degrees.  The coldest temperature recorded was 27 degrees.  It was recorded on December 6th, 7th, and 12th.  The high temperature was 73 degrees recorded on December 17th.
