FCCLA Event Held at Hempstead Hall

A Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) event was held at Hempstead Hall on January 22nd.  The theme was “Students Taking Action with Recognition”. The FCCLA allows kids to get skills for real-world jobs.  There were entries from 19 different schools.  STAR allows students to compete individually or as a group.  STAR has three companions for students: Cooperative, Individualized and Competitive.   Cooperative is for groups, Individualized is for solo competitors, while competitive is for either.

There are different levels.  Those being: Level 1: 7th and 8th grades

Level 2: 8th and 9th grades

Level 3: 11th and 12th grades

Level 4: Postsecondary
