Mendoza now facing charges in Sevier County

DE QUEEN – Alejandro Mendoza, 35, of Texarkana, has been charged in Sevier County Circuit Court with Internet Stalking of a Child and Engaging a Child in Explicit Conduct. Sevier County court records show that he was charged last month and has entered a not guilty plea. Bond was set at $250,000.

Mendoza is currently in the Nevada County Jail in Prescott.

On September 11th of last year, law enforcement arrested Mendoza in Prescott on felony counts of Engaging Children in Sexually Explicit Conduct and Possessing Matter Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct Involving a Child.

An investigation allegedly revealed Mendoza had inappropriate contact with juveniles and allegedly exchanged photos with them.

Arkansas State Police said in a statement that in July 2024, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force following a citizen complaint. Investigators determined that Mendoza, a volunteer coach, had allegedly inappropriate contact with juveniles, exchanging photos with them.

On October 7th, 2024, Special Agents from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, with assistance from the Highway Patrol Division and U.S. Marshals Service Western District of Arkansas Fugitive Task Force, re-arrested Mendoza on a charge of Rape and additional felony charges of Internet Stalking of a Child and six counts of Engaging Children in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
