Southwest Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority quarterly meeting

BISMARCK – The Southwest Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority, SWARIA, met January 23rd for their quarterly meeting at the DeGray State Park Lodge near Bismarck. The bulk of the business was re-organizing for the new calendar year.

Lewis Diggs representing Montgomery County, was re-elected as chairman. Pike County Judge Eddie Howard was named vice-chairman, Jane Fugitt of Murfreesboro, and Clark County Judge Troy Tucker was elected treasurer.

The group’s mission is to, “To encourage, support, and aide economic growth and development for the southwest Arkansas region. We do this through improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the area’s transportation systems. Ultimately, we work to make sure our business and industry leaders can rely on a quality transportation network to facilitate their business endeavors.”

 

Nevada County and Hempstead County are members of the group.
