Security Incident at Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center

HOPE, AR – At 12:39 PM today, Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center received a phone call indicating a potential threat involving an individual intending to bring a firearm to the facility. In response, the medical center immediately initiated lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
Hospital leadership swiftly contacted the Hope Police Department, who responded promptly and professionally to assess and secure the situation. Thanks to their quick action and collaboration with our facility, the threat was addressed without incident.
The safety and well-being of everyone at Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center remain our highest priority. We are grateful for the rapid response and dedication of the Hope Police Department in keeping our community safe.
At this time, normal operations have resumed, and there is no ongoing threat to the facility. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as they investigate the situation further.
