Friday Events from Paul Klipsch Birthday Bash

Friday (3-7) was a busy day for the Klipsch Museum Historical Association. There was a tour of the museum, a wreath laid on Paul Klipsch’s grave, a membership meeting, a dinner, and the chance for people to listen to the speakers both at the visitor’s center and in the auditorium.
Paul Klipsch and his legacy were remembered and honored by a wreath-laying ceremony, a few speeches and a group photo. Denise Cooper, Jim Hunter and Mark Ross all spoke. The comments were about what a character he was enjoying pranks, his choice to stay in Hope and what a lasting part of Hope and inspiration he and the company have been. One of the memories from Ross was flying in a plane daredevil piloted by Klipsch. Cooper thanked everyone for being there in his honor.
For the membership meeting, the annual report was given by Roy Delgado and the curator’s report by Jim Hunter. He spoke about the donation of a small collection of Klipsch memorabilia from Grant Smith. His parents were friends of Valerie Klipsch and received these items over the years. These items include photos and medals.
Verna Mosby was said to be nearly done with putting together the genealogy of Paul Klipsch. This will be added to the collection.
As Tim Cooper’s term, ended Mark Fragnito was voted in for Board position number 6.
Mayor Don Still was mentioned as wanting the Klipsch membership to be more user friendly. In response it was said the new QR codes will take people directly to the site.
Board member Mark Ross is planning to help develop a membership packet and encourage people and businesses to join a d support the museum.
Ginny Sanders, Donna Rosenbaum and Karen Joy were thanked for taking care of 2 museum.
As part of the chair report the replacement of the roof and stabilizing the foundation were also mentioned during the meeting. The Association has entered into a loan agreement with Farmer’s Bank. As the next step have there will need to be replumbing and redoing the gas lines. This will require call for increased membership to pay for these costs.
The treasurer’s report was approved. There isn’t a current balance listed.

The Museum had new rooms upstairs set up for listening with a collection of records for listening.
The meal included macaroni, beans, coleslaw, beef and sweets along with beverages and other things.
