REMEMBERING LEE REED

Mr. Lee Edward Reed passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 23, 1946, to Mr. M.C. Reed and Mrs. Gladys McKillion-Reed in Emmet, Arkansas. Lee attended school in the Emmet Public School system. At an early age, he joined St. Paul Baptist Church.

Lee was employed by Emmet Mercantile for many years before meeting Ms. Lucy Lindsey in 1989 and relocating to Hope, Arkansas. Upon moving to Hope, Lee began working for Koen Farms. He retired after 18 years due to failing health.

After retiring, Lee enjoyed sitting in the yard and visiting with family and friends over a drink or two. He also loved singing and enjoyed the blues and old-school music.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. M.C. Reed and Mrs. Gladys McKillion-Reed; his sister, Lillie Rose Reed; and his brothers, Randy Reed and James Douglas Reed.

Lee is survived by the love of his life for over 35 years, Ms. Lucy Lindsey, and her children, Debra Hale (Henry), Sharon Whitaker (Calvin), John Anderson (Lisa), and her grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Cox; his brothers, Harold Reed and James Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
