First Presbyterian Holds Farewell Reception for Cherry Stewart

The First Presbyterian Church of Hope hosted a farewell reception for long-time member Cherry Stewart on Saturday (4-12).  Stewart will be leaving Hope soon to move to Little Rock to be closer to her son Jason.  Stewart and her late husband David owned Crescent Drug in downtown Hope for many years.  When the drugstore closed, Stewart opened Cherry’s, a very popular sandwich shop.  After retiring from her restaurant, Stewart served on the Hempstead County Quorum Court.  She had previously served on the Hope Tourism Commission.  Those of us in Hope thank Cherry for her many years of service to our community and wish her the best in her new home.  She will be greatly missed

Stewart is shown at her reception visiting with Paul and State Rep, Dolly Henley.
