Gloria Jean Prater “Poke”

On Tuesday, January 9, 1956, a beautiful soul, Gloria Jean Prater “Poke” was born to George and Thelma Prater in Hope, Arkansas. Gloria received salvation through Christ.
Gloria attended Yerger High School graduating with the class of 1975. She met the love of her life, James Monroe Morrison, this union created a beautiful child. Gloria worked in Nashville, Arkansas at Tyson Foods, where she retired.
Gloria enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a soul who would always help anyone in need if she was able. “Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you” is something she instilled in her family and lived by.
At the age of 69, Ms. Gloria Prater gained her wings on April 10, 2025 at her home in Hope, Arkansas with family by her side. Her legacy and memories will live on through her loved ones.
Gloria is preceded in death by her companion, James Monroe Morrison “Nuke”; her parents, George and Thelma Prater; grandparents, Charlie and Della Bostic; five brothers, Early Cantley, George Lee Prater, Bobby Ray Prater, Charles Mixon and Robert Lee Prater; three sisters, Earlene Cantley, Martha Ann Witherspoon and Marion Lois King.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Angela Briggs (Poochie) of Hope, AR; one grandson, Michael (Allena) Ogden of Hope, AR; three granddaughters, Denisha Moore, Monice Briggs and Jalesa Cooper all of Hope, AR; three great-grandsons, Isiah Mills, Aadarian Watkins, and Jace Ogden all of Hope, AR; three great-granddaughters, AaKiyah Spearman, Aaliyah Watkins and Aarmoni Watkins all of Hope, AR; four sisters, Bobbie Ann Prater and Brenda Perkins of Hope, AR, Patricia Phillips of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Mary Threadgill of Hope, AR; a special niece, Jennifer Robinson of Hope, AR; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
