Hope Water & LIght Commission Meets

The Hope Water & Light Commission met Wednesday morning (4-23).  The minutes from the February 26th meeting were approved and the March financial statements were reviewed.
The 115KV Breaker for the North Substation is in the process of being relocated.  Two bids were reviewed for the material to build a steel structure for this project.  The breaker will serve to protect/isolate the transmission line that was recently purchased from Entergy Arkansas.  The low bid of $54,990 from Substation Engineering & Design Corporation was approved.
Next, the general managers gave project updates on Prepay accounts, the Transmission line, and Fiber to the Home.
Under communications, the commissioners discussed the Wadley bankruptcy, the AEP/SWEPCO FERC Filing.  In addition, the potential purchase of land next to the East substation was discussed with City Attorney Randy Wright and a previous motion to allow an offer to purchase that land was rescinded.  Finally, Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation Director Anna Powell addressed the Commission with relevant Economic Development information.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
