Hope Ends April With Above Average Rain, Below Average Temperatures
Hope ended April with above average rainfall and below average temperatures. According to the Southwest Research and Extension Center east of Hope on state highway 174 which serves as Hope’s official weather station, the average air temperature for April was 58.43 degrees. This compares to a normal average of 61.70 degrees.
The high temperature in Hope for April was 85 degrees. 85 was recorded on April 14th, 19th, and 29th. The low temperature was 42 degrees recorded April 8th and 9th.
Hope received 12.33 inches of rain in April. Normal rainfall is 4.56 inches. Hope finished the month up 7.77 inches over normal. Most of this came from the heaviest rainfall recorded on April 5th when Hope received 6.1 inches in a 24 hour period.
