Veda Faye Gaines

Veda Faye Gaines, 88, of Lindale, TX passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Lindale.

She was born March 6, 1937, in Amarillo, TX to Mack and Edith Hart Brown.

Veda was a loving, generous, honorable wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family. In her retirement years she volunteered for Christian Ministries and food banks. She was a longtime member of Park Place Baptist Church where she retired as the Administrative Assistant.

Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by her parents, husband John P. Gaines, grandson Matthew Paul Gaines, brother Leroy Brown, and a sister Ann Massicotte.

Survivors include her sons, Roland Gaines (Janet) of Lindale, TX, and Randall Gaines of Texarkana, TX; her daughter Cathy Thrash (Jim) of Katy, TX; five grandchildren Laura Gaines Ware, Miranda Kaye Gaines, Spencer Wayne Gaines, James Wesley Thrash, and Caitlyn MacKenzie Thrash; and three great grandchildren Cody, Conner, and Grayson.

A private graveside service will be held by family.
