The Spring Hill School District graduated 54 seniors at Hempstead Hall Monday night (5-19).  Arnetta Bradford sang the National Anthem and led the audience in a religious song. This was followed by a prayer by Briar Riding. Welcome and Remarks were given by High School Principal Mr. Ronald Smead. The Salutary Address was given by Anna Beth Sweat and the Class Address by Emma Marie Rhodes. There was a presentation of roses and then the conferring of diplomas by Mr. Smead and after permission to turn the tassels a final benediction by Briar Ridling.
About half of the class graduated with highest honors. Over a million dollars was won in awards and scholarships. Students will attend colleges both inside and outside of Arkansas.  Those mentioned included Universities of Mississippi and Oklahoma, UAHT, Henderson and SAU. Some students will go directly in their careers including the Army National Guard.
Bible verses included Deuteronomy and Matthew.
Anna Beth Sweat thanked everyone who had gotten her there especially her parents and sister and said never to forget the lessons and friendships. Those who had shaped the students were acknowledged.
Speaker Emma Rhoades got very choked up acknowledging all the support and guidance she had received particularly from her parents saying she wanted to be like them. Rhoades stated the world needed light and light didn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
The verse Matthew 5:15 was mentioned and there was the encouragement to let the light shine in dark places.
