Barbara Inscore Brown

Barbara Inscore Brown, age 74, from Prescott, Arkansas went to be with her heavenly father on May 27, 2025, at the Springs of Hillcrest in Prescott, Arkansas after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Barbara was born on February 9, 1951, in Hart, Texas and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She spent many years working in various offices at the Nevada County Courthouse and devoted her time to being a homemaker, faithfully raising her two children. Most of her adult life, she was a member of Central Baptist Church of Prescott, where she spent decades working in the nursery, rocking generations of her church babies. Barbara was a generous friend, having many “adopted” teachers and Sunday school teachers for whom she provided gifts, supplies, and encouragement as well as providing supplies for patients in nursing homes.

She was a member of the Prescott Lions Club for many years, served on the Leadership Nevada County Board of Directors, and was a member of the Artesian Arts League.

She was also an artistic soul, having written several plays for her church and painting ceramics as gifts for her friends and family. Barbara loved to write poetry and even published a book of her poetry called “Heart Pages”. She had a beautiful high soprano voice and loved singing specials at church and singing in the choir. As a young adult, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed being in bowling leagues. She loved spending time with her family, cooking family dinners, and baking cookies with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Homer Inscore, mother Dorothy Inscore, and a brother Billy Inscore.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Roy Brown of Prescott, Arkansas, her two sons, Ryan Brown (Lauren) of Prescott, Arkansas, John Brown (Jamie) of Malvern, Arkansas, five grandchildren, Lilly Brown and Lawson Brown of Malvern, Arkansas and Jace Brown, Hooks Brown, and Haze Brown of Prescott, Arkansas, her brother Larry Inscore (Marri) of Prescott, Arkansas, sister Mary Andrews (Steve) of Rosebud, Arkansas, and sister Jeanie Inscore of Little Rock, Arkansas.

She will be dearly missed but we know with 100% certainty that she’s now in the arms of her Savior in heaven and we’ll see her again one day when we join her there.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and The Springs of Hillcrest for their excellent care, kindness and support.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2025, from 6pm-8pm, at the Brazzel Cornish Chapel.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, 3PM, at Central Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas with burial to follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Prescott, AR. Bro. Roy Johnson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Barbara to the children’s ministry at Central Baptist Church of Prescott (PO Box 600, Prescott, AR 71857) or to Curry’s Community Outreach Ministry (505 Sherwood DR, Prescott, AR 71857).

Perfectly Blessed
By Barbara Brown

God does not require
That I be perfect
He knows that I can’t
He just wants me
To take what He has given
And use it the best I can
So I’ll step out in faith
Knowing that in Him I’ll find all
The courage and strength I’ll need
I will never be perfect
Just “perfectly” blessed
By the only ONE who is!
