Lion Dr. Don Freel Addresses Hope Noon Lions

The Hope Noon Lions heard from one of their own for their first meeting of June Monday.  Dr. Freel talked about Helen Keller and showed a recreated video of Keller’s address to the Lions International Convention in 1925 in which she challenged the club to become “Knights of the Blind”.  Lions International is celebrating 100 years of service to the sight impaired.  Dr. Freel also talked about Roy Kumpfe, a sight-impaired man from central Arkansas who went on to found what is now known as “World Services for the Blind” in Little Rock.
