Spring Hill School Board

The Spring Hill School Board met on Monday (6-9). After the prayer, the minutes were approved as were the financials. So were changes in the school handbook   There were no major handbook changes.
Bids were accepted for food vendors for the cafeteria. The companies were Tankersly, Sysco and Ben E. Keith. Also accepted were bids from Highland for milk and Bimbo for bread.
Vehicle insurance with the Arkansas School Board Association was approved.
The replacement of MacBooks for the teachers was approved. The cost is $17,986. The replacement of servers for the elementary school at a cost of $7,296.96 was approved.
Some heat and air units need to be replaced and Jones will replace them.
Alexia (math) and Renaissance Learning (literacy) programs were approved as were Savvas student workbooks.
New playground equipment for the elementary school was approved at a cost of $29,999. This includes set-up.
The recent state audit was approved.
A resolution was passed to comply with act 1105 of the 2017 regular legislative session regarding 20% carry over balance. The board authorized the superintendent and the district treasurer to move any amount above $852,000 ending balance to the building fund after categorical and restricted funds are first deducted from the ending balance.
Superintendent Jeffrey Steed was appointed as the representative for the board of directors to the Southwest Arkansas Educational Co-op through 2027.
Information was also given on the possible renovation of the gym.
