Camp-a-thon local crew 1313 fundraising to help those living in the margins

HOPE – A local Crew 1313 of youth and adults is fundraising to help finance the charitable acts of the Hope ConneXion Outreach Center, in Hope Arkansas, by holding a Camp-a-thon. Their Goal is to raise $2000 for the general budget by soliciting donations from the community. Their intention is to camp outside of the Outreach Center until they can obtain $2000 in donations! The youth would also like to invite other neighborhood youth to join them in this mission by either
camping out with them or helping them raise funds to serve those who are in need to assist the Hope ConneXion Outreach Center.
The Hope ConneXion Outreach Center is a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Center that is designed to first assist the sojourners, who are leaving incarceration, reintegrate into the community of Hope, AR. Also, we are here to serve those who live in the margins in our surrounding neighborhoods; this is accomplished by providing food for the hungry, clothes for the naked, water for the thirsty, and healing for the addicted and afflicted. We attempt to address
the wholistic needs of those who enter our doors and, in the community, at large. The Hope ConneXion Outreach Center that is an all-volunteer run and led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Currently, the HCOC, has multiple programs that serve the community. They have a Community Garden that offers free produce to the public and they have a shelf stable pantry that fills four Blessing Boxes around the community to aid for those currently experiencing food insecurity. They have a learning center with computers for public use, they have addiction recovery meetings 6-days-a-week, they offer support for those who are looking for jobs or housing and even has a shower for those who are currently housing adjacent. During the winter
they open as a warming center and in the summer, a cooling center.
