Mr. James Edward Blakely
Mr. James Edward Blakely, 88 of Rosston, Arkansas, passed away in the morning of Sunday, June 15, 2025, at a residence in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Blakely was a loving gentle giant of a man who loved his family. He was the father of a blended family of seventeen children and loved all of them equally. He loved fishing and playing dominoes. Most importantly he was a Christian who loved God.
Mr. Blakely was born to the late Mr. Willie Blakely and the late Ms. Hattie Ruth Sanders on January 28, 1937, in Rosston, Arkansas. He was the lone surviving brother of all his siblings. He was preceded in death by both parents. His brothers, Delmorris Blakely, James Harold Blakely, Hershel Blakely, and Randolph Blakely. His sisters, Mae Francis Burnell, Thelma Blakely, Ruby Blakely, and Lula Jean Blakely. Three Children, Jerry Paden, Blake Morris, and Alexander Blakely.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Blakely of Rosston, Arkansas, two sisters, Ms. Violene Courtney and Ms. Trudi (A.G.) Dodd. Nine sons, Edward “Billy” (Barbara) Blakely, Phillip McKinney, Charles (Mary) Blakely, Keyon Smith, Lamar Morris, Joshua Blakely, and Rayveun Blakely. Five daughters, Loretta Powell, Lakeyta Morris, Cristal (Jousha) Lewis, Rayveuna Blakely, and Myshala Blakey. Special friends, R.V. Haynie, William Brewer, and Berlin Sanders. Twenty-five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Blakely’s service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday June 22, 2025, at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church 1019 U. S. Highway 76 Rosston, Arkansas, 71858 where pastor David Roy will serve as Officiant and Pastor Bobby Box will serve as Eulogist under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday June 20, 2025, in the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, 71860 from 11:00A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
