Henry Glen Wade – Updated

Henry Glen Wade, age 90, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was born on January 31, 1935, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the late Eulis and Mary Viola Wade.
In 1955, Glen married the love of his life, Ann Quarles. In 1959, after interning at Buffalo’s Shoe Repair, he and Ann opened their own shoe repair shop, where Glen earned the nickname “Buffalo.” He operated the shop until his retirement in 2002 but continued repairing shoes at Rowe’s Leather Goods with the goal of working until he was 90.
Glen was known his entire life as being a happy, fun-loving person, who always had a smile on his face while trying to encourage people by his faith and his joy of life.
He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and loved his church family.
Glen proudly served in the National Guard for 22 years before retiring from military service.
Glen was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Wade; his parents; one brother, Jimmy Wade; and one sister, Lou Prince.
He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Gilbey (Philip) of Fayetteville; his brother, Wendell Wade of Arkadelphia; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brazzel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Brazzel Chapel with burial to follow at Memory Gardens.
