Leadership Nevada County held its Local Government session

NEVADA COUNTY – Leadership Nevada County held its Local Government session on July 10th. The morning started off at the Nevada County Courthouse and a visit at the Nevada County Tax Assessor’s office. The class then visited with Nevada County Judge Mike Otwell, followed by a visit at the County Clerk’s office, County Treasurer’s office, and the Tax Collector’s office.

The class then visited with the City of Prescott’s Mayor, Terry Oliver. Afterwards the group went to Emmet to visit with Mayor Dale Booker. The class had lunch with Rosston’s Mayor Samuel Quarles at a local restaurant called KnB Grill. After lunch the class toured ArborGen Nursery in Bluff City followed by a tour of the Carolina Church which is one of the oldest churches in the county. We finished out the day by traveling to Bodcaw and meeting with Mayor Kimberly Hernandez.
