Laura Lee “Cox” Wyatt

On Thursday, July 15, 1954, in Lewisville, Arkansas, Laura Lee “Cox” Wyatt was born to Harvey Cox and Clarice Pree. She graduated from Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Arkansas, with the class of 1972.

On December 14, 1974, Laura married the love of her life, Orie A. Wyatt, Jr. in Toledo, Ohio, where they lived for a brief moment before relocating to Lewisville, AR. Laura attended Union Hill Baptist Church until her health failed. Laura enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was a resident of Lewisville, Arkansas for many years.

At the age of 70, Laura gained her Angel wings on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in Lewisville at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Clarice Cox; one brother, James Cox; and one sister, Dorothy J. Allen. She is survived by two brothers, Julius Cox of Lufkin, Texas and Roosevelt (Martha) Cox of Lewisville, Arkansas.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 50 years, Orie A. Wyatt, Jr.; her loving son, Brushon L. Wyatt of Lewisville, Arkansas; four daughters La’Shun M. Wyatt of Texarkana, AR, Jaleda J. Wyatt, Mary (Tony) Wyatt-Davis of Lewisville, AR and Kendra (Chris) Wyatt of Garland, AR; 15 grandchildren, Ke’Andre Wyatt, Jevian (Haley) Gabriel, Keion Haynes, Kian Mendez, Ja’Tyrian Davis, Tony Davis, Jr., Jordan Bradley, Kaiya Wyatt, Ky’Shun Haynes, Ke’Ayla Wyatt, Kiara Wyatt, Kaydence Wyatt, Ja Miyah Davis, Mia Sasser, and Brandi Soils; four great-grandchildren, Kenslee, Vyncent, Javonte’ and Royce; two uncles, Napolean Pree and Harvey Pree; two special friends, Shirley Grisby and Sonia Bradley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
