Meet the Priest at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Hope

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is pleased to announce we have a new priest serving us
once a month for Holy Communion.
Reverend Robert McLeod comes to us from Little Rock the Fourth Sunday of each
month to share Holy Communion with us.
Reverend McLeod is a retired Episcopal priest married to his wife, Nancy, with 5
children and 10 grandchildren.
Reverend McLeod started out in politics, holding two degrees in political science and
divinity. working at the U.S. House of Representatives. He transferred to the ministry
after working in Washington. Graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1986, he
worked in various parishes in Virginia, South Carolina, Colorado and Florida
Father McLeod favors working in smaller parishes in order to ensure they received
quality ministry, and to raise his five children in a better milieu.
In his spare time, Father McLeod enjoys mountain climbing, working on foreign cars,
and listening to music. Over the years he has climbed the highest peaks in the U.S.,
France, Switzerland, Cuba and Japan. He helped a climbing partner set the world
record for speed ascent and descent of Denali, the highest mountain in North America.
He is in the process of climbing the highest mountains in all 50 states, and have done
some in the East, but all those in the West that present a challenge.
Familiar with Klipsch audio, Father McLeod learned about Paul Klipsch after reading his
biography and has a wonderful stereo with modified Klipschorns, and two other sets of
Klipsch speakers. Before coming to St. Mark’s to serve, he had already been familiar
with our congregation through mention in Paul’s book. He had previously made two trips
to Hope to visit the Klipsch factory.
HIs areas of interest in theology are soteriology: how God redeems, and eschatology:
what the future holds, or doesn’t. He currently has one book in publication entitled:
Romans: The Definitive Rogue Cleric Commentary Using Tools of Hebrew Rhetoric. His
