All the water meters have been replaced.  There are no new leaks in the water system.  The leak that was at city hall is fixed.

Jon Barry gave the fire department report.  There were no new calls.  The fire department has toured the different park buildings to determine how safe they are. The Washington Fire Department recently hosted the county firefighter’s association.  The department has scheduled some trainings throughout the year.  They have their A-33 submitted.  The department currently has three firefighters who have their full set of hours in.  There was one resignation from the department.  Barry said that there was a problem of people getting into the fire station bay and messing with things in there.
Mayor Henley noted the city will be setting up a new marker near the Black History Museum.  It will be memorializing the Freeman group who helped free slaves find jobs. The mayor also said there will be an 18-inch culvert installed near the Brunson property.  He also noted the Verizon cell tower has been bought by Vertical Bridge.
Mayor Henely has some prices for a new tractor.  He had a bid from John Deere for $27,807.42 and a bid from Kubota for $29,190.  The council voted to purchase the John Deere.
Mayor Henley has asked Dr. Vic Ford to look at a pine tree on the Peck House property.  There are some other trees under consideration to be removed.  The meeting then adjourned.
