State Senator Steve Crowell Speaks to Hope Civitan Club

State Senator Steve Crowell of Magnolia who represents District 3 — Clark, Columbia, Lafayette and Nevada Counties and parts of Hot Spring, Hempstead and Pike Counties — spoke to the Hope Civitan Club recently. He is vice-chair of the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee and is a member of the Senate Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee and is Vice Chair of the Legislative Joint Auditing-Medicaid Subcommittee and serves on several others.
Senator Crowell told Civitan members that one of the highlights for him of the recent legislative session was providing free breakfast and lunch to children during the summer. He said he was also instrumental in the passage of Act 330 that amends the homestead property tax credit from a maximum of $500 to $600, and that Act 1012 — dealing with taxes applicable to lithium extraction and other matters — was a notable achievement for him in this past session.
The Hope Civitan Club meets at Dos Locos Gringos Restaurant on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Interested persons are invited to attend a meeting.
