John Carl Foster – Updated
Mr. John Foster, age 68 of Sutton, Arkansas, passed away Friday July 25, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas. John was born September 16, 1956, to Barney and Idell (Combs) Foster, in Butte, Montana.
John was a man of few words. I love you was grunts, yep’s, and huh’s. He showed his love in his actions to all who truly knew him. He cherished his family and friends.
He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his fellow neighbors with cutting hay, repairing any equipment, or rounding up cows.
He was a true country boy — farmer from tending his cows, cutting hay, repairing fence lines, or just sitting in the pasture watching and listening to his cows.
In his younger days he loved to coon hunt with his friends. Even tried to take his daughter & son (Jennifer & David) hunting. Of course, that was only one time. Jennifer made too much noise. Stephanie missed her only chance to go coon hunting when she told him she would let them go free and she got the “Heck no” look.
Squirrel hunting was also a passion of his for many years with his friends.
Fishing he loved to do with his kids and grandchildren. They of course would tease him when he only caught the smallest one.
John always liked doing things himself and was hard to understand sometimes. But he was truly a good man, husband, father & grandfather & friend.
He will be missed beyond words can say.
He is preceded by his parents, and a brother Paul Foster.
John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vickie Foster, sons, David Thomas (Carly Robinson) of Emmet, Ryan Foster (Josselyn) of Texarkana, Ross Foster (Jennifer) of Emmet, Daughters: Rebecca Morales (Jesse) of San Antonio, Stephanie Faulkner (Daniel) of San Antonio, Jennifer Galceran (Andrew Sturgill) of Emmet, Sister-in-law Anita Foster, Special daughter-in-law Trina Goodwin, Brother Mark Foster, grandchildren Dominic Dellosso, Kevin Morales, Kimberlee Morales, Haylee Galceran, Damian Galceran, Diego Galceran, John Thomas, Riley Thomas, Rowan Faulkner, Slade Faulkner, John Goodwin, Haley Goodwin, Emma Sturgill, Nathan Foster, Connor Foster, along with many nieces, nephews, family & friends.
The visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 5pm to 7pm at the Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel.
There will be a private family burial at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Oakcrest the Funeral Home of Hope.
