Calvin James Shaw, “Buddy”

Calvin James Shaw was born on May 10, 1950, in Hope, Arkansas, to Alester and Rosie Shaw. He departed this life on July 29, 2025. He graduated from Yerger Schools before moving to California, where he was drafted into the Army to serve in Vietnam. He served for 4 years before being honorably discharged and moving back to Hope, Arkansas.

He worked many production jobs in his lifetime before his health began to fail. He was taken care of until his death by his special niece, Leia Jackson. He was always known by family and friends as Buddy, but was called Uncle Buddy Boy by his nieces and nephews. He never had any children of his own, but he was always fond of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Alester and Rosie Shaw. Sisters, Rosetta Smalls, Loretta Jackson, and his twin sister Carolyn Washington. One brother, Alester Shaw Jr., left to cherish his memories are his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
