Prescott/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Holds Coffee and Introduces New Executive Director

The Prescott/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce held a community coffee on Thursday (8-14) to introduce new Chamber Director Valerie Cobb to the community. Cobb is no stranger to Prescott as she was born and raised there. She spent the past 26 years serving in several roles with the Prescott School District. She noted she is excited about her “new journey” and looks forward to working alongside local businesses, community leaders, and residents to build the community to be the best it can be,.
Many generations of Cobb’s family have lived in Nevada County. Her grandparents, Archie and Clara Johnson, owned and operated the Nevada News and the Prescott Daily News. Another grandparent, Dr. Gill Buchanan, built the Cora Donnell Hospital in Prescott.
Cobb is married to Dustin who has worked at Amrize for the past 37 years. The Cobbs have been married for 31 years and have two children, Andrew and Sara. Andrew recently graduated college with a Master’s Degree in Finance. Sara is attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro where she will graduate with a Masters Degree in Accounting in December.
