E.M.M.A. Black History Museum rededicated

WASHINGTON – There was a Rededication of the Black History Museum in Washington Saturday morning. The Black History Museum gives the history of African Americans. There was a music interlude and afterward, there was a prayer led by Daniel Ford.

Julian Williams gave a dedication speech about the importance of the history of Washington. Geneva Walker also spoke, speaking about Mildred Smith, Mrs. Walker’s mother’s cousin. Mary May also spoke about Mrs. Smith, mentioning the influence she had on Mrs. May’s life. Mayor Henley also spoke, reading a plaque in dedication. Jonathan Lance spoke, telling people how he got the marker in Washington. Historian Peggy Lloyd was recognized for her support of the Black History Museum.
