Washington City Council

The Washington City Council met on Tuesday (8-19). All but one council member was present.
The council voted to accept the last meeting’s minutes. The financial statement was reviewed and approved. No dogs were caught last month.
The Fire Department was discussed by Jon Barry, the fire chief. A couple trucks have been worked on and fixed. There was a false alarm at the Washington Jail Bed and Breakfast and the first responders went to a call Monday on County Rd. 14. There are a few new firemen.
Mayor Paul Henely noted a deputy had been fired. Mayor Henely also mentioned the Black History Museum that was reopened on Saturday (8-16). The water audit was also discussed.
The meeting was then adjourned.
